Project Gorgon Spirit Stone Guide
Spirit Stones in Project Gorgon are rare ghostly items found in the Eltibule region, mainly inside small wooden boxes on the ground. Their main use is transforming into a Spirit Fox by giving one to the Completely Normal Fox, or by trading one to a player already in Spirit Fox form. They are uncommon, valuable, and tied to some of the stranger systems in the game.
If you find one, do not vendor it by accident. Spirit Stones are tied to race transformation mechanics and unique interactions, not just quick councils.
What Is A Spirit Stone
A Spirit Stone is described as the final remains of a ghost who found peace. It has a vendor value of 400 councils, but its real value is far higher because of its transformation use.
They are classified as ghostly remains and are considered unusually rare. You will not commonly see them listed as regular monster drops.
Where To Find Spirit Stones
Spirit Stones are primarily found in the Eltibule region.
They appear inside small wooden boxes placed on the ground. These boxes are not guaranteed to contain one, which makes the process partly luck based.
There are player rumors that these boxes are more likely to appear in areas where fireflies gather. While not officially confirmed in tooltips, many players report better luck searching those spots.
Be prepared for a slow hunt. Finding a Spirit Stone is usually a patience test, not a quick farm.
How To Become A Spirit Fox
The most well known use of a Spirit Stone is transforming into a Spirit Fox.
To do this:
Obtain a Spirit Stone
Find the NPC Completely Normal Fox
Give the Spirit Stone to the fox
You will transform into a Spirit Fox race form.
There is also a player interaction version:
Trade a Spirit Stone to a player who is currently in Spirit Fox form
The receiver must be in fox form during the trade
The giver transforms into a Spirit Fox
The receiver reverts to their previous form
This makes Spirit Stones tradable transformation tokens between players.
Work Order Use
Spirit Stones can be turned in for a Work Order.
Thimble Pete offers a Work Order requiring 10 Spirit Stones for 9295 councils. This requires Industry level 40.
Given how rare the stones are, this is usually not the most common use, but it is technically an option.
Other Lore And Mentions
Lore suggests Spirit Stones contain fragments of a soul. There are references to brewing them into potions that grant memories and personality traits, though this is tied to deeper thaumaturgy systems and not a common early game path.
They are also referenced in the lorebook So You Are A Spirit Fox, which explains more about the transformation side of the system.
Should You Sell A Spirit Stone
If you are new and short on money, 400 councils may look tempting. In most cases, it is better to keep or trade it.
Spirit Fox form has mechanical and social value. Because of the rarity, Spirit Stones tend to be worth more in player trades than vendor trash value suggests.
Unless you are specifically farming them for the Work Order, treat them as transformation currency, not junk loot.
Final Thoughts On Spirit Stones
Spirit Stones are one of those items that quietly connect to larger systems in Project Gorgon. They are rare, slightly mysterious, and tied to one of the game’s more unusual race transformations.
If you are exploring Eltibule and see a small wooden box, open it. You might just find the remains of a peaceful ghost… and possibly your next form.
