Project Gorgon Favor Guide: How To Raise Favor Fast

Project Gorgon Favor Guide: How To Raise Favor Fast

Favor is one of the most important systems in Project Gorgon. Favor controls how much NPCs will buy from you, how much they will pay, what services they unlock, and whether you gain access to storage, training, and special features. If you are not working on Favor early, you are slowing your entire progression.

This guide explains how Favor works, how to raise it efficiently, and which NPCs to prioritize.

What Favor Actually Does in Project Gorgon

Favor represents your relationship level with an NPC. The higher your Favor, the more benefits you unlock.

Raising Favor increases:

  • NPC money pool so you can sell more before they run out of councils

  • Maximum price they will pay for items

  • Access to storage

  • Access to unique abilities and recipes

  • Access to consignment services

Until you reach high Favor, you will see an exclamation mark next to items in merchant windows. That means they are not paying full price.

Favor Relationship Levels Explained

Each NPC has relationship tiers. You move up a tier when you reach 100 percent of the current stage.

Positive ranks:

  • Neutral

  • Comfortable

  • Friends

  • Close Friends

  • Best Friends

  • Like Family

  • Soul Mates

Favor required to advance tiers:

  • Neutral to Comfortable requires 100 Favor

  • Comfortable to Friends requires 200 Favor

  • Friends to Close Friends requires 300 Favor

  • Close Friends to Best Friends requires 600 Favor

  • Best Friends to Like Family requires 800 Favor

  • Like Family to Soul Mates requires 1000 Favor

Soul Mates requires 3000 total Favor.

There are also negative ranks if you upset NPCs, including Disliked and Hated.

The Two Main Ways To Gain Favor

There are two core methods:

  • Quests

  • Gifting

Quests provide fixed Favor gains but are limited. Once completed, gifting becomes your primary method.

How Gifting Really Works

Every NPC has Likes, Loves, and sometimes Dislikes. You learn these through Small Talk.

Items have keyword categories. If an NPC Likes or Loves a category, gifting those items increases Favor.

Examples of keyword types:

  • Potion

  • CorpseTrophy

  • PreparedFood

  • Figurine

Favor gained from gifting is based on a percentage of the item’s value. Higher value items give more Favor.

Important notes:

  • Loves do not always give dramatically higher returns than Likes

  • Some items have modified gifting value through special keywords

  • You can increase Favor gain percentage through stats like Civic Pride and Notoriety

Always check Item Information and test small gifts before dumping a stack.

Smart Early Favor Strategy

Inventory management and Favor go together.

If an item stacks, keep it and sell or gift in bulk. One inventory slot holding a stack worth 2000 councils is better than ten slots holding low value gear.

Early priorities:

  • Focus on NPCs that teach your main skills

  • Prioritize merchants with large money pools

  • Unlock storage NPCs once income is stable

Example strategy:

If an NPC buys gems and Likes gems, gather Geology materials. Sell until they run out of money. Gift the remaining stack to raise Favor. Higher Favor increases their money cap, letting you sell more next time.

This loop funds early progression without relying heavily on RNG.

Hanging Out For Passive Favor

Most NPCs allow you to Hang Out.

When you select an activity:

  • You gain Favor over time

  • It continues while logged out

  • You receive small themed rewards

It is free Favor. Always have a Hang Out activity active.

Favor And Storage

Many NPCs unlock storage at higher Favor levels. Storage is extremely valuable in this game.

Because inventory space is limited and expansion takes effort, unlocking NPC storage early reduces stress and travel time.

Favor is often more important than raw councils during early and mid game.

Increasing Favor Gain Rate

You can increase the stat Favor Earned From Gifts.

Sources include:

  • Civic Pride

  • Notoriety

  • Weekend event bonuses

Higher Favor gain means fewer items needed per tier, which saves time and resources.

When To Focus On Money

Early on, spend money aggressively on:

  • Favor items

  • Skill unlocks

  • Progression materials

Stacking large council reserves too early slows growth. Favor unlocks better selling rates and larger merchant pools, which increase long term income.

Money matters more once skills move into the 30 plus range.

Final Thoughts On Favor

Project Gorgon revolves around Favor. It affects your income, storage, training access, and long term efficiency.

Talk to every NPC. Learn their Likes. Sell smart. Gift strategically. Keep stacking items instead of hoarding random gear.

If you master Favor early, the rest of the game becomes much smoother.
