What Obsidian Is Used For In Project Gorgon
Obsidian is a gem type associated with the Knives skill. Knives that use obsidian can be enchanted more thoroughly than normal blades, which makes it useful for players focused on knife combat or crafting.
It is also treated as a crystal in recipes. Any recipe that accepts crystals can use obsidian.
How To Get Obsidian
Obsidian is not crafted, purchased, or earned from quests. It is found through surveying and gem surveys.
You obtain obsidian by completing blue gem surveys. These surveys come from the Surveying skill and are completed using the Geology skill.
Where Obsidian Comes From
Obsidian appears as part of blue mineral surveys. It can be obtained anywhere blue gem surveys are performed, but there are bonuses in certain zones.

Obsidian can be gifted to NPCs, but its effective gift value differs from its base value of 100 depending on the NPC preferences.
