Project Gorgon Knife Skill Guide: Knife Fighting
Knife Fighting in Project Gorgon is a high damage Combat Skill built around Damage Over Time, poison, and precision strikes. You can learn it very early with no level requirement, and it becomes extremely strong once you stack bleeds and evasive tools correctly. If you want fast, aggressive combat with daggers and thrown knives, this skill delivers.
Knife Fighting rewards smart positioning and patience. You are not just spamming attacks. You are layering injuries and letting enemies slowly regret their life choices.
How To Learn Knife Fighting
Knife Fighting has no prerequisites. You do not need another combat skill at 50. You can pick it up early.
To unlock it:
Travel southeast of Serbule Keep
Find Bahdba near the countryside ruins
Speak with Bahdba to train Knife Fighting
Bahdba teaches the base skill and some Throwing Knife recipes. Knife Fighting is also a starting skill for the Fairy race.

What Makes Knife Fighting Strong
Knife Fighting focuses heavily on Damage Over Time. Instead of relying on huge single hits, you apply bleeds, poison, and traumatic injuries that tick repeatedly.
This makes the skill excellent in longer fights. You open with multiple DoT abilities, then use evasion and light self healing to survive while the enemy slowly melts.
It works well as a main skill because it has:
Heavy Damage Over Time pressure
Evasion tools for survivability
Light self healing options
Ranged options through Throwing Knives
It feels aggressive but tactical at the same time.
Throwing Knives And Ranged Pressure
Knife Fighting is not strictly melee. You can use Throwing Knives as ranged attacks.
Throwing Knives function similarly to arrows:
They are consumable ammunition
About 85 percent can be recovered when looting enemies
Some are lost on use
There are multiple tiers, from Simple Throwing Knife to Master’s Throwing Knife. Higher quality knives generally perform better, so upgrading your ammunition matters.
Ice Conjuration can craft Crystal Ice, which can be used as ammunition for Knife abilities that require Throwing Knives. That creates interesting cross skill synergy.
Trainers And Higher Level Unlocks
Knife Fighting scales all the way to level 90. Different NPCs unlock higher tiers.
Bahdba teaches the base skill
Lisi teaches many special Knife abilities
Rick Snapley unlocks levels 51 to 70 in New Prestonbule Cave
Pegast unlocks levels 71 to 80
Emersil the Ever Gloating unlocks levels 81 to 90 beneath Povus
You will not unlock all levels automatically. Visiting the correct trainer is required for progression past certain breakpoints.
Weapons You Should Use
Knife Fighting supports two weapon types:
Main hand Dagger
Off hand Dirk
You can mix and match different tiers like Basic Dagger, Quality Dagger, Military Dagger variants, and many named blades.
For off hand, Dirks like Basic Dirk, Quality Dirk, and Military Dirk versions are common choices.
Upgrading both hands improves your overall output. Do not ignore your off hand.
Skill Synergies That Boost Knife Fighting
Knife Fighting gains bonus synergy levels from specific skills at certain milestones.
Cooking at level 10 and 60
Fishing at level 35 and 65
Orcish at level 25
Sword at level 25 and 55
Unarmed at level 33 and 55
These synergy levels increase the effectiveness of Knife Fighting when those skills reach the listed levels. If you enjoy hybrid builds, planning around these milestones can give you a noticeable edge.
Related Skills Worth Pairing
Knife Fighting pairs well with several systems.
Cooking is useful because sharp blades matter for ingredient prep. Sushi Preparation requires 25 Knife Fighting, which connects your combat build to crafting.
Ice Conjuration can support your Throwing Knife usage by crafting Crystal Ice ammunition.
Sword and Unarmed also provide synergy bonuses, making hybrid melee builds viable.
Is Knife Fighting Good For Beginners
Knife Fighting is beginner friendly in terms of unlocking, but mastering it takes practice. You need to understand DoT stacking and timing.
If you enjoy fast combat, poison damage, and watching enemies slowly collapse while you dodge around them, Knife Fighting feels satisfying.
It is not a pure burst skill. It rewards setup and pressure. Once you understand that rhythm, it becomes one of the most lethal combat skills in Project Gorgon.
If you want to learn dagger combat early and grow into a high damage assassin style build, Knife Fighting is an excellent place to start.
